VR International Sport Horses

How we select and train young show jumpers

Work

Talent is selected. The future is built.

At VR International Sport Horses we combine rigorous selection with personalised training, respecting each horse’s own pace and supporting its progress towards top-level sport.

The course

The work begins with selection and continues every day

We study each horse’s origins, follow its progress and adapt its training to the stage it has reached. Competition becomes part of the process once the horse is ready for it.

  1. Step 1 of 4

    Selection

We identify young horses with strong bloodlines, above all on the dam’s side, and with the talent and potential for competition show jumping. We look for horses that allow us to build a development programme in line with their age and experience.

  2. Step 2 of 4

    Training

We develop their abilities through progressive, individual training that respects their own pace. Daily work, under Benjamín Fernández Alanzor, is adapted to each horse and to its physical development.

  3. Step 3 of 4

    Competition

Competition is part of their learning: it allows us to assess their progress and consolidate their sporting experience. We share rounds and sporting information so that you can judge the horse’s current stage with more to go on than a photograph.

  4. Step 4 of 4

    New horizons

When a horse reaches a new stage in its development, we look for the right rider and environment so that it can keep growing and fulfil its sporting potential. Talking with the buyer and their trainer helps us understand what they are looking for and what information they need to review.
